Immanuel Kant / The document inventory

Letters & fragments

Each inventory follows the numbering of an identified edition. “Complete” refers to that edition and document type; it does not claim to cover every surviving document by the philosopher.

The coverage labels distinguish fully indexed corpora from lists that remain partial.

Letters / 1148 indexed entries

Korpora.org, Bonner Kant-Korpus: Akademie-Ausgabe X–XII, numbered correspondence 1–903 with lettered insertions (1,148 entries)

Complete inventory for this edition

These 1,148 entries reproduce every letter number in the digital tables of AA X–XII, including lettered insertions. Incoming and outgoing letters are distinguished. Three rows grouping a/b are separated; the erroneous link for 180a/b is replaced with AA X, page 289. Complete coverage refers to this edition’s table, not every letter subsequently discovered. Statements and appendix documents are not counted as letters. Uncertain dates retain the editor’s wording.

Fragments / 8137 indexed entries

Bonner Kant-Korpus, Akademie-Ausgabe XIV–XIX: 8,137 observed numbered Reflexionen

Partial inventory for this edition

8,137 reflections are individually indexed from their actual headings across 4,097 accessible pages in volumes XIV–XIX. The sequence reaches 8112 and includes suffixes; numbers 7333 and 7363 are absent from the consulted transcription and are not invented. Coverage remains partial for the whole Nachlass: unnumbered notes, volumes XX–XXIII and manuscript variants need separate indexing. Titles indicate the editorial subject, not an invented summary; precise dates are not inferred from Adickes’s conjectural phases.
