Baruch Spinoza / The document inventory

Letters & fragments

Each inventory follows the numbering of an identified edition. “Complete” refers to that edition and document type; it does not claim to cover every surviving document by the philosopher.

The coverage labels distinguish fully indexed corpora from lists that remain partial.

Letters / 86 indexed entries

Spinoza et Nous, Epistolae: Gebhardt IV, nos. 1–84, with supplements 12bis and 67bis

Partial inventory for this edition

All 84 numbers in the source table are represented, together with supplements 12bis and 67bis: 86 records. The 80 consulted transcriptions verify correspondents; their dates are retained where explicit. Numbers 38, 42, 43, 49, 69 and 84 lack transcriptions in this source: those records link to its index without inventing recipients or dates. Documentary coverage therefore remains partial. Dual calendar dates are retained, and incoming letters are not treated as written by Spinoza.
